| Like the jewel in the crown, La Chartreuse du Bignac sits on a hilltop with a 360° view of gently rolling hills graced by vineyards, woods and orchards. This XVII century manor, carefully restored with attention to the period, is surrounded by 12 hectares of park-like grounds that includes century-old boxwood trees, natural springs, ponds, a dovecote, an orchard, and an herb garden. Wherever you turn, from the terrace to the pool, you will be delighted with the exceptionally colourful sunsets and the neighbouring villages’ church steeples which dot the landscape. At the Chartreuse du Bignac, all is planned with your comfort and relaxation in mind: the calm of the living room with its stone fireplace, the warm, cosy atmosphere of the small library, the unusual wine bar and home cinema set in the vaulted ceiling of the 12th century wine cellar, the dining rooms where high quality fabrics blend in harmony with the thick wood floors, and the fireplace that crackles as far as the frosty weather is back. The cuisine is seasonal using fresh local products. Duck, for which the region is famous, is often the focal point of the menu. The pastries and desserts, prepared with the fruits from the Bignac’s own trees, add a special touch to the generous buffet breakfast. You will be personally welcomed by the owners, Brigitte and Jean Louis Viargues, who live on the grounds.
